Late May to early July and September are ideal: warm seas, open beach facilities and lighter crowds than the August peak. Falassarna faces west, so calm-wind days deliver the best swimming and the clearest sunsets.
It is possible since they are only 40 minutes apart, but each deserves unhurried hours. Splitting them over two days with a night in Kissamos, Balos early on day one and Falassarna through the afternoon and sunset of day two, is the rhythm this route is built around.
